Referral Criteria

All referrals go to lead clinicians then to a multidisciplinary allocation meeting.

Children seen age 0-19

Conditions include;

Delayed development

Post surgery

Acute childhood disability

Developmental Coordination Disorder

Acute injury or musculoskeletal dysfunction

Referral Pathway

Following allocation meeting

Assessment at therapy base (School, home or Child Development Centre)with parent/carer present

Therapy advice/programme

Individual or group therapy

Referral to other agencies

Discharge or monitor long term with self referral form

The paediatric service operates at The Child Development Centre, wards at BRI, mainstream and special schools, nurseries, Surestart, respite care and Neonatal Unit, BRI
