Being Part of the Occupational Therapy Team in Bradford Hospitals Trust

We are a large team of staff including full and part-time Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants and clerical support. As part of the Rehabilitation Team we work closely with Physiotherapists and other staff groups in each work area.

Specialties include General Medicine, Neurology, Stroke Unit, Elderly, A&E, Rheumatology, Orthopaedics and Paediatrics.

Occupational Therapists work at St Luke's Hospital, the Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI), Community Hospitals and schools.

Bradford covers a large geographical area from Howarth to Ilkley and Keighley to the M62. We cover inner city, surburban and rural communities.

Bradford has a multicultural population with a wide variety of ethnic groups e.g. Pakistani, Indian, Afro-Caribbean, Jewish, Polish and Chinese.

Together with Social Services and Occupational Therapists we have been pursuing a wide variety of integrated working initiatives.

All staff and students have an initial induction period to their specific area, the Occupational Therapy department and the Trust. Students are taken from a number of Universities and gradually build on learning and responsibilities through supervision with their Fieldwork Educator and support from the whole team. Work experience placements are also available
