Renal Service

The service is offered to renal patients and their families. We work with multidisciplinary team to offer holistic patient care. Assessments are offered as part of the process prior to transplant.

About our Service

Location

Outpatients are seen on the Renal Unit, or in Psychology Department St Lukes, and in some cases Home Visits may be made. Inpatients may be seen on F2. Patients may also be seen whilst being dialysed

Referral Criteria

Psychological problems related to the renal problems, for patients and their relatives.  To include:  Low mood, depression, anxiety, bereavement. Psycho-social assessment for patients/relataives prior to and post-transplantation in conjunction with the renal team

Referral Pathway

Any professional member of staff on the renal unit or renal ward, preferably having being discussed with the consultant wherever possible.  GP's

Referral forms are located on the renal unit and ward.  Patient information leaflets are available on the Renal Unit and Psychology Department
