Accessing the Service

Wheelchair
  • The applicant is registered with a Bradford GP, or agreement has been arranged from the relevant wheelchair service for visiting clients.
  • A referral has been made through the approved system (see referral criteria).
  • The client is identified at assessment to need a wheelchair to help them overcome their disability.
  • There is a permanent need for a wheelchair, i.e. longer than a 3 month period.
  • The wheelchair is for the individuals' own use.
  • In all instances, wheelchairs will reflect clinical need and the wheelchair identified will be the most cost-effective model available.
